Can I still save my shell?

I left my DryQ shell in a storage box on my pattio. Well, apparently, that box leaked and collected water inside, so the shell was soaking in water and growing mildew for the past 2 months. I know I am an idiot, but can I still salvage it? If yes, what should I do?

First step would be simply wash it with some tech wash of your choice (Graingers, Nikwax, Sportwash, etc). See how it comes out after that.

I would add two things: Apply another DWR after you wash it, and call Mountain Hardwear to see what their thoughts are if the washing doesn't work.

So I washed the shell with tech wash and applied DWR, but there are still visible spots of mildew all over. Would not be a problem, but it feels like the shell is either not waterproof anymore or it doesn't breathe as well - I get some wet spots inside. Still a functional shell, but I should probably start shopping for a new one .

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
