Smith Rock or City of Rocks sometime 3/23-3/30

I'm relocating to Northeastern Nevada from Portland in two weeks and was hoping I could squeeze in some climbing in the road trip before getting to Nevada. I've never been to City of Rocks so I'm not even sure if the conditions this time of year are climbable.

Anyways, I've got sport climbing gear (including 70m rope) and will lead up to 5.10-. I've never climbed trad but would follow if that's what you're into. I've got the Smith guidebook. I'm also into checking out other good weather crags on the way from Portland to Northeastern Nevada but I figured these were the two biggest destinations on the way.
