Hey everyone,

I'm thinking about heading to Red Rocks soon. The current forecast is high 70's; will it be too hot to climb there? And will the camping be overfilled this time of year?

Thanks,
Nat

Depends on what you want to climb. Trad climbing in the canyons will be prime, sport climbing below 5.12 will be good in the shade, and I'm sure some bouldering deep in the canyons will be okay. Anything in the sun will be too hot.

It's coming up on spring break and the red rock Rendezvous, so I imagine camping will be at a premium for the next few weeks.

Thanks John for the info, definitely wasn't aware Red Rock Rendezvous was happening next week. Do you know of any other camping options other than the main Red Rock campground? When I was there in December I couldn't really find any other place to stay.

You can camp up in Lovell Canyon Road, but it's kind of...out there. There aren't any other designated camping areas for red rock, unfortunately.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
