Campfire Etiquette in Joe's Valley

This past Wednesday night out-of-state climbers left a burning campfire when they went to bed. I happened to wake up in the middle of the night and put it out- which was lucky because it got incredibly windy very early Thursday am.

I would like to think this does not need to be addressed, but PLEASE remember to be conscious of your campfires, which means being sure they are properly and thoroughly put out.

This is not only a safety concern, but could potentially threaten access to the sites we love so much.

Utah is incredibly dry- even when there's still a little snow on the ground. One spark is all it takes, and only YOU can prevent forest fires.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
