Looking to start learning trad this spring, as I will be living in Bishop now at least through May. I'm still a beginner climber and have followed up to 5.9 in the Leavenworth, WA area. I have been bouldering at V0 in the Happys, with the occasional V1. Hope to lead some 5.5-5.7 routes by the summer, while developing my overall climbing technique.
I'm not totally new to trad. Took a trad lead course two years ago, but haven't had a chance to really put it into practice. I'm studying anchors with Luebben's book, and understand the general rhythm of things with placing pro, reaching a belay spot, building an anchor, and bringing up a follower.
Also open to other climbing in the area. Sport in the Gorge, ice in Lee Vining (while it lasts), bouldering around Bish.
I have a full trad rack (brand new), 60-meter dry rope, a set of draws, ice tools, crampons, crashpad.
