Hi, Im looking for 2 or 3 retired climbing ropes to turn into a cargo net. The cheaper (free?!) the better and obviously I would pay shipping. Old, beaten, core shot ropes are totally fine. This won't be used high off the ground. Thanks.

Are you still looking for retired rope?

Chacal, do you still have the climbing rope?

Morgan, if you are actually looking for a serviceable/usable rope, this does NOT qualify. The rope is one piece of gear you shouldn't skimp on. Buying used is always a bit risky as you don't know the history behind it. There are ways to get a new rope if you look for deals, coupon codes, and so on. It may not be a 70m, dry, bicolor version, but you can find a decent new 60m rope for down close to $100. Here is one possible example:

Others can hopefully chime in to help steer you in the right direction.

I do. Again, this is core shot rope, retired rope.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
