Midweek access to Gold bar

I searched all over but couldn't find anything regarding midweek access to gold bar during the winter season. I know the gates are closed a few miles down the road and the WCC page says logging is underway during the week for the timber sales. Is this true even now (winter season)? I wanted to go check out Gold bar if there's a couple days without rain or snow and do some exploring.
