last chance conditions

Condition reports on the last chance page suggest that the motor approach is in bad shape. Can anyone confirm this?

I'd love to spend a few days there, but if my minivan is going to shut me down, I'll go roast in Mexico instead.

If the road is indeed bad, are there 2wd lowish clearance camping options? How far of a walk would I be looking at to the walls?

Thanks.

I'm looking at making a visit to LCC this Saturday if you wanted to join! let me know! the more the merrier. I know it's going to be windy with 15mph on Saturday and ~20mph on Sunday but it should be okay. Seems like a minivan can make it unless it rains, which the forecast doesn't show. I'll keep you updated.

Update on road: perfectly fine, still rocky as ever. Would not want to be on it if it's going to rain or just rained. Slow going if in a lower clearance vehicle like a Subaru. No need for 4wd in dry conditions

Thanks for the info. I ended up going to Mexico.
