My girlfriend and I will be visiting the US for a month or two from Australia from about mid May this year. The plan is to fly into San Francisco, spend a few weeks in Yosemite, hopefully get a wall or two done, then drive east via Utah and Wyoming to Wisconsin. We'll probably fly out of Chicago in early July.

Ideally we'd have a van to live in while we're there. Does anyone in the bay area have one to sell (or rent, if you don't mind it ending up in Chicago)? We could also start from LA if that would improve our chances of finding a vehicle.

have you looked into this company

I'm not sure if it would be worth it to buy, register (taxes), and sell something for only a couple months.
I'd check out expeditionportal for campers and RV's to buy.

Thanks guys. I've looked at a few hire options. We had a Jucy van when we were over there in 2013. It was pretty good, but the furthest east we'd be able to get on a one way hire is Vegas. Escape campers look pretty good, and we could do a one way hire from San Francisco to Denver, so that might be our best option.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
