Small, tender bump on palm

Ok, for about a month now, I have had a small bump (bee bee sized) on my left palm between where my pointer and ring fingers extend. It is tender to the touch and when gripping on large slopers, but no pain or soreness otherwise. I first noticed it after getting hang rings to train (which I stopped using immediately) but still have continued climbing at the gym 1x-2x per week and the bump has not increased in size of sensitivity.
Anyone have something similar to his happen or know what may be the issue?

Probably an ingrown hair. Stop, or you'll go blind, too.

Jokes about self-abuse aside, I developed in as well years ago. Never caused any issues, but as with anything medical related, get it checked out if in any doubt whatsoever.

Congratulations, you just may be a Viking:

Dupuytren’s disease (DD) is an ancient affliction of unknown origin. It is defined by Dorland as shortening, thickening, and fibrosis of the palmar fascia producing a flexion deformity of a finger. Tradition has it that the disease originated with the Vikings, Text

Hasn't bothered me in the 7 years I've had it.

Looks like ganglion to me.

Ah, a cancer/Webmd joke. Hilarious.

In all seriousness, more reason to get it checked out - as unlikely as it is that it's more than Viking heritage or a ganglion cyst.

Wish I had done the same for some other seemingly benign symptoms a few years back. You can do the math on that one.

Wow... great info and ideas (and humor!!). I will check it out. all irish heritage but i am 45 so there could be some viking dna floating me blood but will look into the potential ganglion cyst and other growths as well. thanks all!

I'd vote for ganglion cyst...

I developed a similar lump in palm about an inch down from ring finger, bit between pinky and ring, about 6-12 months ago.

Pretty sure mines just a harmless lumping of the tendon anchored to pinky. It's been no more than a curiosity for me.
