Are these more suited for general mountaineering or ice climbing?

From Backcountry.com:"Alpine climbers and mountaineers count on the versatile Grivel G12 Crampons to take on any terrain they encounter in the mountains. The G12's time-proven design is an excellent choice for everything but the steepest pitches of ice."

Check out the thread linked below. I've climbed up pretty steep ice in them so I would agree that they are a solid all-arounder.

Hey Brandon, I have these same crampons. I feel they are more as an all-around/do-it-all crampon. I used them on vertical ice and they perform excellent. Highly recommended
