Does anyone have any knowledge on how fast the rock drys at Harper's Ferry after a rain shower? There's some foretasted rain this upcoming weekend, and I'd be interested to know if anyone has experience with how fast it gets climbable out there. I know Seneca can dry up super fast, and was wondering if this area is similar.
I've climbed Skink rock a few hours after rain and it was all dry. I've climbed Balcony rock maybe 6 hours after rain and it was dry too. It was much warmer spring weather though. You should probably be able to find something dry if you are willing to hike around a bit. Usually crags with less vegetation on top dry a lot faster since there is less seepage. I can't really compare it to Seneca since I've never climbed there right after rain. Been lucky with good weekends there.
