The 50th anniversary of the FA of the nose @ looking glass was in December. The post above has some cool info and pics. They got the original FA party back together and they brought out some gear they used back in the day - looks wild. I'm glad I had cams and sticky rubber on the route!

It looks like some of the old gear will be going into a climbing museum that's opening in Black Dome Sports - pretty cool. There is a similar "museum" at Seneca Rocks and it's pretty sweet to see the gear people used to use. At Seneca, they has wooden pitons and proto-tricams.

Also, a new Southern Pisgah Rock and Ice guide looks to be coming out in 2017

Nice write up. I bet if you put modern sticky rubber on those shoes people would buy them for the hip factor.
