Hey folks, what is the preferred guide book for Joshua Tree.
Can i get it from nearby when I'm there?

There are a couple:

Randy Vogel's and Miramontes. Both are good.

You can get them at the Nomad Ventures climbing shop in the town of Joshua Tree.

Chat with the fellas at Nomad, they will steer you correctly. THere is the big book of 3000 climbs. its really good. I dont remember who wrote it though.

The guys at Nomad steered me to the big book when I was out there. It's a really good book and really well done. It's the Miramontes one, Wolverine publishing.

You use to be able to rent a guidebook at the little hippie shop called Coyote Corner on the left side of the road near the park entrance. I thought that was a great idea. I'm not sure if that is still an option. This was 12 or so years ago.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
