Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can share a few classic multipitch 10s and 11s that get sun exposure during December. Any information will be much appreciated!

Nightcrawler, Triassic Sands, Fiddler on the Roof and Only the Good Die Young have all caught my interest, but I'm not sure if they'll be in the shade during my trip. Help?!

Nightcrawler- maybe a tiny bit of morning sun, but the corner will be in the shade all day. The wall left and right will be in the sun, though. Time's Up on the other side of the pillar gets morning sun and was recently equipped with new bolts.

Triassic Sands- no sun

Fiddler- Maybe a bit of morning sun. Maybe.

Only the Good Die Young- No sun.

Climbs that do get sun:
Orange Clonus (5.10+)
Eagle Dance (5.10c)
Levitation (5.11c)
Black Orpheus (5.10a)
Mountain Beast (5.11a)
Chicken Lips (5.10)

We did Triassic sands 3 days ago. Shaded; yes, chilly; yes but not freezing, worth it; totally!

John knows best - but if the temps are decent definitely give Triassic a go, and do at least to top of P4 - totally awesome shorter route/shorter approach for RR.

Eagle Wall is the place to be for long sunny routes at this time of year. Eagle Dance and Levitation 29 are both excellent.

Thanks, John, et al.

What was the temperature when you put up Triassic Sands, mountainhick?

Hey Andy,

I know you've climbed Unimpeachable Groping already, but I thought I'd mention it for anyone else reading this thread. Qualifies as a classic multipitch 5.10 that gets a fair amount of sun in December.

Have a great trip!
