Hi, just bought a vasak leverlock crampon that come with FILFLEX. i want to change it to FIL as my boot have a toe welts, but i can't pull the FILFLEX part out. Should i just use a screwdriver and push it out by force? thanks.

Rotate bail so that flat part lines up with oval. Pull with hands.

If that doesn't work, girth hitch a sling and place crampon in a bench vise or secure under foot (wear work boots). Pull on sling.

If that doesn't work, place crampon in bench vise. Use hacksaw with American-made, 32 TPI, bimetal blade with slow, medium pressure strokes to remove front bail.

Pulling a sling on it works best for me. Wear gloves just in case the thing comes flying up.
