Scarpa Phantom Guides?

I'm looking to buy my first pair of mountaineering boots, and am really tempted by the Phantom Guides on sale at Backcountry right now. They would be a lot cheaper than other options ($359), but I can't find much that talks about their durability or usefulness as all-around mountaineering boots. I'm hoping to find something that I can use in CO this winter but then keep for future endeavors after that. Trying to keep cost as low as possible. Would these be a good choice?

Short answer is yes. Scarpa Mountaineering boots are incredibly durable and warm. If you are local ish to Denver go to wilderness exchange and try em on. They even have demo boots for like $200 info u want to save more money

I used mine in Rainier in September where I faced a hour long downpour, hiking a total of 9 miles up and down wet, rocky, muddy hills. Then spent two days in a variety of snowy, rainy, and sunny conditions on the glacier.

In the end I absolutely love them! One but of advice is the heel cup runs a little wide. Make sure to size them properly or invest in some mole skin!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
