Is anybody in the know on what is happening with the new style Tibloc? Are they going to be for sale this year?

I tried ordering one earlier this year, but they were backordered and eventually cancelled. Still interested in getting my hands on one to see how the new design works. Anybody know what the deal is?

It's spring loaded to help the teeth grab the rope quicker... or something.

Yeah, basically the plastic piece pushes the carabiner down into braking position so that it stops right away, should in theory reduce the shredding of the sheath by the teeth.

Yeah, I know how it works... Perhaps I didn't word my question well enough.

Are they making these? Are we going to be able to buy them? Lots of stores were listing them earlier this year, but none of them have stock and my order was cancelled after a long backorder period.

I don't know. I know that all of the other items that they previewed at the same shows as the new Tibloc are out already, so I imagine that some issue came up in testing or production that is slowing the release.

I spoke with petzl USA today and they said it would be available January 2018
