Planet Granite climbing gyms (in the San Francisco Bay Area and Portland, Oregon) are matching up to $20,000 in donations to the American Safe Climbing Association for ALL of October! If you're in the Bay Area there's a big event with Peter Croft on Wednesday at the Sunnyvale Planet Granite (yep, Sunnyvale, all of our earlier ones were at the San Francisco gym). (Separate thread on that:… ).

Donate today - or all this month - and you can double your donation! The ASCA is a 501(c)3 non-profit, you can donate online from the upper right corner of our home page:

These huge fundraisers and the Planet Granite matches make up more than half of our annual income, and those dollars go directly to buying bolts for crags all over the U.S.! Here's some examples - this is where we've shipped top quality stainless steel bolts in just the last 6 months:

Joshua Tree (Park Service likes bolt replacement to occur in the summer - hot, hard work by volunteers!)
Smith Rocks
The Hood (Mt. Charleston, Vegas)
Red Rocks
Wild Iris & Sinks Canyon
Columbia River Gorge
Indian Creek
Northern California coast crags (titanium bolts)
Cathedral Ledges, New Hampshire
Massacre Rocks, Idaho
Jackson Falls, Illinois
Owens River Gorge
Black Cliffs, Boise, Idaho
Crags in western North Carolina
Seward Highway, Alaska
Shoshone Canyon, Cody, Wyoming

Lots of work is ongoing at other areas, this is just the most recent! Awesome volunteers all around the country are out replacing bolts, but usually those who have the time don't have the money to buy top quality hardware. Please help - donate and help us replace rusting bolts all over the place!
