New Climbers and trips with Clubs

Hello all,

I have recently moved to Seattle from South Africa. I was a member of the Mountain Club of South Africa and learned how to trad and ice-climb through them. As a member you can tag along on many events with experienced members who openly teach what you need to know. The club also allows its members to rent/borrow its equipment. All this combined makes expeditions educational, accessible and affordable.

This last weekend I went Mt Ranier for the first time. I just did a couple of short hikes there. Now I'm suffering from series climbing pangs to attempt a summit.

Is there a way I could rent some equipment affordably?

Is their away I could tag a long on an event and possibly get some training for ice, snow and glacier traversing?

Guided trips are just SO SO expensive and the training is also not affordable at the moment.

Are there any clubs or groups that I can join that can make PNW mountaineering dreams come true?

A BIG thanks for all responses.
