Come October, the weather here in Southeastern Utah turns into fine days of crisp air and brilliant sunshine. It's the time of year when climbing can be at its most pleasant.

On Halloween weekend, please join us here in Moab for the first annual American Alpine Club Moab Craggin' Classic, presented by the folks over at CAMP, Scarpa, Arc'teryx, and Rock and Ice Magazine. I'm excited to announce that Moab Desert Adventures will be hosting this amazing event, along with other local guide services, professional athletes, local businesses, and local climbing legends!

Details can be found on the AAC website at the link below. Feel free to be in touch with me personally with questions, or sign up and come down to Moab for an incredible weekend full of slideshows by local climbing masters, local-specific clinics with pro athletes and local guides, the Moab premier of Reel Rock 11, and a volunteer day to help re-enforce some of Moab’s world-class climbing access! Throw in a free beer or two and we’ve got a deal!

I'm stoked! Are costumes mandatory?

Haha. Costumes aren't mandatory Scott, but are certainly encouraged!

Another bump for what will certainly turn out to be a great event. We've got amazing slide shows lined up, and some of our desert-specific clinics won't be found anywhere else!

Sign up to improve the dreaded smearing-on-sand (aka - smanding) skills on Wall Street's famous slab pitches, learn some desert clean-aid tactics from local masters, climb splitters with the most prolific desert first-ascensionist of his era, Jay Smith, or work on more basic skills like intro-to-trad with Shingo Ohkawa. If off-widths or bouldering are more your style, join legendary wide-crack badass Jay Anderson or the region's strongest bouldering presence, Chris Schulte. If you'd like to see how desert climbing translates into and informs bigger alpine climbing pursuits, join Scott for his Fast and Light Alpinism clinic.

Bottom line is, we've got an amazing array of competency clinics to choose from, and Moab in the Fall is one of the greatest places on Earth!

We look forward to seeing you all.....and hopefully this thread can gain a little traction!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
