Going to be in Ojai for a wedding in October and wanted to hit the climbing areas. Anyone around October 6 to 10th to climb? I also see there are sport routes :) what's worth climbing?

Pine mountain has tons of bouldering routes if you fly that way at all. My schedule is very funky but pm if you need a spot and a crash pad. Least I can do is lend the pad

I lived in Ojai for four years and tried to climb as much as possible. I thought the route Danger Boy, right by the Wheeler Gorge bridge, was kind of fun. And the Wheeler Gorge sandstone is okay. But overall, Wheeler leaves a lot to be desired (read: "short, chossy, slick cobbles..."). The Fortress is fun if you don't mind footholds peeling off under body weight. Or just before the Fortress, the Sespe Wall has a couple very moderate trad routes. On the other hand, Pine Mountain bouldering is AWESOME! Love it. A beautiful settings in the pines with perfect sandstone boulders, great camping, flat landings. What more could you want? Pine Mountain is DEFINITELY the gem of Ojai-area climbing.

Thanks for all the information. I am flying out to Cali today and have a partner lined up for Sunday. If anyone is free and climbing/bouldering on Monday the10th I would love to join. Flight is a 9PM so wanted to try to get in another day outside if I can find others to join.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
