Micro Trax Idea - Tuolumne?

Hey Gang,

Quick question - I know that in the Valley (namely @ Cookie) that a bunch of folks set fixed lines on routes to run laps during the offseason. With summer officaly over for all intense and purposes, I had an idea for a rather pumpy Tuolumne route to fix a line on it.

Problem is, the route traverses. If I fix a line on a route to huck some laps on, would anyone else be interested in joining? Especially if it were a route like, hypotheticall,y On The Lamb?

just trying to put the feelers out since visitorship in the meadows gonna drop bigtime.

thanks in advance for the feedback! :)

If you found someone interested, wouldn't you just do "regular" (belayed) climbing?

a fixed line on "on the lamb" is a terrible idea for many reasons....

1) it would be impossible to move the fixed line out of the way for people doing the route
2) your microtraxion would feed terribly horizontally
3) i wouldn't really consider it a pumpy route
4) if you fell it would be akward to get back on route

the prime climbing season is just now starting. DO NOT leave fixed lines on popular routes. Fixed lines are starting to become a bit ridiculous here in the park.

For all intents and purposes you could put a clip halfway up the route as a directional. Unclip when you pass it on the way up and reclip when you rappel.

I say don't listen to these guys - that's an obscure line anyway, nobody will care.

As long as you can stay one step ahead of the law, On the Lamb is the ideal candidate for your intensive porpoises.
