Ummmm, I think I forgot my entire pack of climbing gear yesterday (June 2) :( It's possible it was swiped from my car at some point after I left the crag, but knowing myself I left it there. I am pretty sure I brought it back to the parking lot, and I am guessing I put it down then forgot about it. If you found it please let me know. My number is 8084974335. Thanks

I'm confused.

Just realized I don't have any of my gear. It either was stolen out of my car or I left it at the crag. I'm somewhat certain it wasn't stolen though. I have a feeling I left it in the parking lot rather than actually at the crag.

Doesn't it also seem familiar, like a rerun?

Sure guys, cause people always post their full name and phone number when trolling.

Sorry to hear about your gear James, hope you're able to find it.

I agree, but the "not sure if I left it at the crag or the parking lot or maybe it was stolen out of my car" is just so reminiscent of the lost bouldering pads earlier this year.

I'll ask the OP the same question I asked in that thread: how stoned were you?

welcome to Colorado. 808 is that Hawaii? mountainproject.com/v/make-...

I'm surprised that some one will steal your pack at the Canal Zone, The East Colfax is the bad crag in CCK

No not a troll. Like I said, I'm not really sure what happened to it, all I know is I was going to get my gear ready to climb and didn't have it. I tend to leave my stuff in my car overnight, so it's possible I forgot to lock my car and someone swiped it without breaking in, but I had some trad gear that was still in my car so I doubt that's the case. I think I got to the parking lot, put it down, went to the trash can to throw something away, and must have forgotten about actually putting it in my car before leaving. Yup, 808 is HI but been here for a couple years now

I don't see James on the forum a lot but I've climbed with him before (at the Canal Zone), so I'm pretty sure he's not trolling. Really sucks to hear this, I hope you can find your gear man!

You probably should describe your lost bag and gear.
Ya know, so it can be identified.

It sounds like a drive off with the gear in the parking area. Being in plumbing service and construction I can vouch for how easy it is to get distracted and drive away from your tools.
So hopefully a conscientious climber grabbed it and eventually sees this thread. Help a bro out.
Something else I've noticed with age; when people lose stuff there is almost always some default mechanism that blames theft/others. And almost always that is not what happened.

6 or 7 years ago I left my pack full of all my climbing gear (and my girlfriend's) at enchanted tower in NM. This was our last stop on a summer long trip out west and we did not realize it was gone until we were in Dallas! My girlfriend did some googling and found MP. She put up a post and somebody actually mailed us back all of our stuff! We sent him a gift card to REI and I've been using MP ever since. Then I married that girl! So dreams can come true; I hope you get your stuff back.

Awesome to hear you recovered you gear DL! There are def good people around still. I think when I came back from the trash I got caught up talking and just forgot to load my stuff up. I didn't provide details because I figured if somebody picked it up a pack at canal zone around that time. and they had the intention of returning it, they'd probably be able to figure out that it was mine if they came across this post. It was a Deuter pack, with a helmet and shoes strapped to it, and an entire sport setup inside. I'm going to try to call around a few places to see if someone turned it in somewhere, but not too hopeful...

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
