Headed to Alaska next week to see my father who lives in Copper Center. I am going to be there for about a week, and typically I would trad climb. However, my time is limited and I have about 2 free days available to boulder.
Do you have any recommendations for bouldering? I picked up the climbing guide to Alaska assuming it would cover bouldering...
I was thinking of going to Hatcher pass and seeing what all boulders I could find. Also is there camping around that area? Any information or specific beta would be greatly appreciated.
There has been a lot of sport route development in Valdez, two hours south of Copper Center. Nick Weicht posts here and would be a good source of info as he's doing a lot of the development. It'd certainly be worth a trip, as there is absolutely nothing going on in Copper Center (aside from eating Copper River salmon).
