Does anyone have a link for how to turn old ropes into dog leashes? I'd like to make something nicer than just a couple over hand knots. Thanks!

These work nicely...

on one end tie a barrel knot around a biner. clip biner to collar. on the other end tie a fig 8 follow through for a handle. in the middle tie an alpine butterfly in case you need to keep your dog closer than normal (around cars, etc.)

Once you get the rope tied to the clip slide a piece of 1/2" heat shrink
tubing onto the knot and use a blow dryer to shrink it

It will keep the knots from looking ragged.
These leashes need a big dog to carry it.
6 feet of lead line for a dachshund is a lot of weight for a small dog.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
