Hey everyone! I'm moving to Ukiah, OR this June for a job with the Forest Service for the summer. I'm from Arizona, and new to the Northwest.
I'm looking for climbing partners, and would love to get out and be shown around by locals.
I mostly climb sport outside, getting into trad lately (I have almost a full rack), and boulder a little bit.
Any beta on the Oregon climbing community would be greatly appreciated (best climbing gear shops, climbing guidebooks, indoor gyms?)
Also what areas are must-sees while in Oregon for the summer? So far the obvious ones are Smith Rock and Trout Creek, but what else?

Also I've been doing a bit of volunteer work with the Access Fund affiliated Climber's Association of Southern Arizona down here, and was wondering what is going on in Oregon, in terms of climbers access/volunteering. Any good groups I should know about?

Thanks! I'm stoked to be living and climbing in a new place!

A place called Spring Mountain might be a good semi-local spot for you. I've never been there, but a friend of mine found it an enjoyable place.

You might want to go to Icicle Creek/Leavenworth or Vantage/Frenchman's Coulee in WA, for something different. Also maybe something in the N Cascades.

You're not too far from City of Rocks, ID.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
