Traveling through and thinking of swinging by Jackson Falls Friday. How's the camping situation? Should I worry about the possibility of rain tonight and tomorrow?

Possibly looking for a partner also. I lead 7's & 8's on gear.

It's rained the past few days, so it's gonna be a little wet. Most of the cracks stay wet for a while after it rains. Also be aware that the road has really deteriorated. My honda civic just barely made it on Monday. I don't imagine you'll have trouble finding camping, although I'm usually there durring the week. I've heard it can get busy on the weekends.

Thanks for the info! Sounds like I'll skip it and save the climbing for The Red next week.

I second what Max said! The rain the last few days has probably left the rock a little damp and there is probably water pooled in the the cracks and pockets not to mention that the floor of the canyon will be a little damp or even muddy. The road going to the camping and climbing areas is a muddy mess right now and it pretty rutted out in some places. Ill be going there to climb on Sunday so I'm hoping it will be dry by then but its probably wet today.

Looks like the road is getting fixed soon. The BETA fund just got an Access fund grant to improve the parking lot too.

The road has been fixed up

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
