So I have to go to the Valley for work this week (i know, rough..) but it was last minute and all the sites are booked or way out of my price range (lodges and what not).

This is my first time going to Yosemite, is there a decent chance I would be able to find a walk-in site or am I relatively screwed? Any advice on finding a decent spot for the rest of the week through the 11th would be fantastic and greatly appreciated!

Further, I would love to find someone to climb with on the 10th. I have a standard rack, with doubles through the middle and a 60m rope. Id be happy to belay in return for a showing me some cool routes.

Jake. Arrive early to the campsite office in Curry village campground. Get on the waiting list as early as you can. At least by 8am if not earlier. They open at 8. Return before 3pm calling and you are highly likely to get a spot. FOR THAT NIGHT ONLY. repeat and you will have good luck. Remember not to be late 3pm or earlier as they only call your name 3 times. $26 sites for the pines. PM me if you want to climb.

Wait, so I have to go back every day to get a campsite? Is there no way to reserve multiple nights?

What about the walk it possible to walk in and grab a campsite something like camp 4?

Thanks for the info, I'll definitely reach out about climbing on the 10th!

Yes of course you can do the same for camp 4. The line there starts very very early. The pines might have multiple days in a row. The problem is you can't be two places at one time. Not sure what time they do the picking at camp 4. Someone can surely chime in on that. Good luck. You should be ok if you're there mid week.

I was at yosemite around this time last year and didn't have any problem getting a week at camp four (the weekend may be a bit harder we met someone at a reserved campsite friday night than moved to camp 4 on monday). Lots of rotation of people at our site. Almost every night we had random people show up get kicked out / go over to get a real site. Assuming most of them were people getting there late after the reserve time was closed.

I would go for camp 4 first if I were you lots of fun getting to meet all kinds of different people.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
