My wife has a torso length of about 14.5/15 inches and we are having difficulty finding a pack that fits her and is large enough to carry her gear for winter camping/climbing/expedition without needing a sled. We live in Alaska and as such need to use some fairly bulky gear to stay safe. The sled is OK for the expedition type stuff, but we really need a pack that can carry all out gear. The largest pack I could find for her was a Gregory Deva 80, but in the extra small size that fits her it is only 75 liters which is not quite enough considering our -30 bags etc. The Denali 100 is perfect and about the size we are looking for, but the torso length is too long.

Anyone have any suggestions for a pack that would fit her? Or is our only option getting a custom fitted pack? What do all the short mountaineers of the world do?

Have you looked into brands from Asia? There are many accomplished mountaineers from that part of the world that are shorter in stature.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
