Been surfing lately and my skin is now terrible for climbing. Any way to keep calluses while my hands get soggy in the ocean? Tons of antihydral or....thanks in advance.

Climb more! Seriously though, if you're just starting out with surfing it'll take some time but your skin will eventually find the balance. When there's waves, surf, when it's flat, climb.

Yeah that's not so easy when you live in CA... maybe in NC it's easier

I kiteboard and surf 4-5 days a week all spring-summer and have that problem. Only thing I've found that helps a little is really make sure that and tiny flap of skin is sanded down so you won't rip it further. But honestly during those times I'm more focused on kiting.

It's not as much of a problem here in NC due to less water time. However I did live in Hong Kong for quite some time and I experienced this dilemma quite a lot. Especially with the rock there being so coarse.

I surf 1-3 times a week, swell dependent, in Southern California. Lately more climbing than surfing. I've never had a problem with callouses tearing. Maybe I need to climb more. I'm also an electrician. Could be that my hands are so hardened from construction over the years that salt water and stone aren't much different. So with my poor experience with tender skin, I advise that you harden them up often. I heard that peeing on them works.

P.S.
Don't piss in your suit! It's gross. And the new ones don't rinse as well as the old.
