Hey,

I own a pair scarpa triolets and I'm wondering what crampons others out there are able to match with these boots for a super solid connection.

I was given a pair of petzl spirlocks last srping and I used them on glaciers and snow all season but as I have progressed into some more technical climbing I realized the rear points move too much. I thinks its due to the rocking of the boot or the weaker heal bail setup of the crampon, or both. Either way I haven't been able to solidly secure these crampons well enough for ice.

I haven't attempted serious modification yet but have been thinking of trying petzl leverlocks, mixing and matching those guys with what I have now.

Any advice from some seasoned climbers? Anyone have these boots and have a solid matching crampon?

Thanks,
Max

Max I've got some Grivel G12 New-Matics you can borrow to try out if you want; they've worked fine for me on a boot similar to the Triolet. Hit me on FB and I can bring them to Vertical World sometime. I'm doing more skiing than climbing right now and could part with them for a week or two.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
