Is the Red still soaked after the recent rains? Will there by anything under 5.11- that's dry enough to climb on by this Thu, Dec 31? I'm aware of this thread, which is super helpful for ideas on moderate routes. But mainly wanted to check in on conditions for this weekend with this post. The forecast calls for highs in the low 40s and cloudy. Will that be uncomfortably cold? Thanks!

I was hoping to get down there tomorrow. Would love to hear how things are looking.

Thanks!

Related, anyone know if Miguel's is open? I've heard you can still make reservations online and that the showerhouse/bathrooms are still open, but most recent news of that was near the beginning of the month. I'm planning on being down there this weekend despite the coldness.

The weather was probably similar last year on the 1st, which we spent at Muir, which was cold but bearable.

If you go to Advance Search they give you as one of the search options to search on climbs that stay dry.

As long as it doesn't condensate lots of stuff will be dry. If the temps are cold for a bit and then the temperature goes up by a lot good chance it will be wet.

40 and no sun is pretty finger numbing. 40 and sunny can feel amazing.

You can camp at miguels but the restaurant and everything else is shut down for the season. Bathrooms are open and usually the back indoor area but I am not sure about the showers. You don't need reservations, just show up and slip $2/night under their door.

Lots of RRG rock doesn't see a drop of water no matter how hard it rains unless condensation gets to it.

The bathrooms are closed too. No water but you are still able to pitch a tent.
