Hey community!

I am coming to visit Las Cruces for the first time. I am driving there this weekend and will be around for the week. I figured it would be worth it to put a feeler out to see if there were any experienced climbers that I could check out some easy routes with. I follow 5.7, 5.8 but have climbed up to a 5.10, although it was very very challenging for me. I have a harness, helmet, chalk bag, belay device, and shoes. Is anyone available and comfortable taking beginners out?

How do you like living in that area? I am considering moving there.

Please reach out if you feel so inclined!

Las Cruces is an awesome town; I lived there during graduate school. Prepare for 350 days of sunshine. You like sunshine, right? Pretty mild winters and oppressively hot summers. Like, it's very hot. Fortunately I didn't mind that at all.

Tons of beautiful, local rock. Easy drives to Hueco Tanks and Cochise Stronghold, in additional to the many good northern NM crags.

I always had trouble finding a partner, but I'm not that friendly and this was before the existence of functional Internet.

Great food (if still in biz):
La Posta
Teriyaki Chicken Bowl
Mesilla Valley Kitchen

Good luck on your move,

Ps: do not go to Jaurez alone

Is andeles still a thing? I sure hope so.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
