Came across this wall the other day. I certainly don't have a developers eye but it struck me how clean it was. One side is covered in these nicely varnished vertical finger crack /seams and the other has a mini roof that opens up into a upper face covered in little pockets / huecos.
Then I thought "well someone must have come across this before (Its up and to the right of the far right side of the panty wall) maybe you really are worse than at picking out climbable faces than you thought and this place just has no climbing despite what you may think you see" , But in walking around to the top to get a better look ... there was a two bolt anchor.
In hiking about and working on various first pullout projects Ive come across random anchors that are clearly for either rappelling practice or just some sort of convenience anchor so people can rapp off of stuff rather than walk the long way back around/down things. This seems to out of the way and short to be something people would practice rappelling from or need to utilize to save time. On top of having what appears to be (at least to me) some solid looking lines on the cliff right below it. Long winded way of asking what something is I know , anyone have any info?
There is a large number of top rope routes in Red Rock, meaning you can walk to the anchor and set up a top rope. Although this one just seems to be a trad route. It looks like a nice crack for placing cams but it's hard to say from the photo. I generally avoid the Panty Wall since it's always so crowded.
