Assessment of one's physical, mental and technical capacities. It's usually fun. Beautiful Scenery. Intimate method to experiencing one's environments. Badass. |

I struggle with this sometimes. I wonder if I spent my time doing something else would I be in a better position in life. I hold my dad responsible for this. He always says, "if you can't do it in jungle boots and a 50 pound ruck, I'm not impressed." He'd be one of those "shoes are aid" guys if he was a climber. |

for me, climbing provides a vehicle for self-actualization. When I'm climbing, I feel like I'm actually living life rather than just letting it pass by around me. |

climbing has also given me goals and motivation to do something with my life and historically greats climbers such as the Iron Monkey give me a role model that I hadn't been able to find previously |
