I'm sure there are well over 50 small business making chalk bags here in the states. Making chalkbags is pretty much the quintessential, entrepreneurial climber pursuit.

Why buy a chalk bag built in China when there are countless fellow climbers making them right here in the USA?

I own and operate TUFA Climbing out of a 9'x13' room in Eugene, Oregon.

Thanks for the mention of ClimbAddict! Here's the link right to chalkbags page: climbaddictdesigns.com/shop…

I have several pieces not shown on the website, as they haven't had the hand sewing done yet, but since it is coming tine for my winter migration soon, I guess I had better get busy and finish some up!

Big ups to Jared Moore, who posted some of the chalk bags he had made in this thread. I really like the first picture he posted and reached out to have him make a bouldering pot. Well, it just arrived in the mail, super fast, and this thing is AWESOME! The construction is fantastic, he included a pocket and brush strap as requested. All in all, I'm just super impressed. Thanks a million Jared. I love this thing and I can't wait to take it out.

You must not be a professional photographer that tries to make their living through the sale and/or licensing of their photography....

I do sewing repairs (gear, etc.) as well as make things out of scavenged materials. These are just a couple of pictures I took quickly...again, I'm a very small local business. I make chalk bags and so far I have some t-shirts that I designed as well.
I'm the owner of the carhartt chalk bag. Amongst all the hand shredding this summer the bag is holding true. Quality local craftsmanship here. Thanks Jared!!!

Climbers have added stiff collars to Seagrams bags since the early 70s at least,. ...b^P.

Along with small size back packing organization accessory "ditty" bags - small sintch sacks,
The purple bag was dual purpose , and was the go to Choice before any one made a dedicated bag at least in the woods around the east coast. Where the original contents played a role in every thing from the medical to the celebrational. I believe that is a, better lost, tradition ! /8^S
