Has anyone here ever used trekk inn to purchase products, and if so how was the service and product?

There is a shell jacket that I have been looking at purchasing and on every site but trekk inn this jacket is listed at $600.00. On the trekk inn site it is listed as $320.00, and this is not a discontinued or on sale item.

Is this on the up-and-up?

I bought 12 Oz quickdraws from them for ~40% off in March. The order was delayed a few days, but once they shipped from Spain they got to me in 2 business days.

When I purchased from them I assumed their pricing was way off because the Euro had just plummeted, but I guess they still haven't fixed it.

The quickdraws seem legit, and I've whipped on them without dying.

I bought a pair of dynafit speed turns from snowinn which is somehow related to trekinn, same umbrella company from what I can tell. They were a stupid steal of a deal, they didn't ship as soon as the sight said when I ordered but I wasn't surprised as I had read a review somewhere else that said the shipping can be a bit slow depending on what they have in stock. It would actually be more appropriate to say the packing/wharehousing wasn't quick but the actual shipping was something like 2-3 days once they had them. Barcelona-Brussels-Denver via DHL. I forget the exact time it took but I want to say it was less than 10 days from when I placed the order. It was worth it as I saved $78 over the cheapest sale price I could find anywhere else and that was including $25 shipping. As long as it's not something you need tomorrow and the risk of a bit of a wait is no big deal it's definitely worth it. I was a bit wary considering how low the price was but like I said I found some reviews online and also figured my bank/Visa have always been pretty reliable in backing me up so what the hell.

Ordered a petzl grigri and petzl corax harness from them for a total of $50 dollars less than the best price in the US online stores. Paid about $10 in shipping by usps and got to my house in 2 weeks after ordering. Shipped right away as it was listed in stock, longest holdup was at customs in Chicago where it sat for almost a week. Did not have to pay any duty charges at delivery. The items were in perfect condition. In my opinion a good buy for items that are drastically less expensive. Will use them again.

I bought a pair of ski bindings from them at very good price. It took a while for them to arrive, but they arrived as ordered.

Do NOT fall in the trap!!
Be Careful and avoid these people as the Black Death.

They stated they have two Columbia jackets in store. After paying, their first email says items were NOT in stock. Then, after charging Paypal account, they came back 4 days later saying order was cancelled!

Then I payed with a Visa from a US bank. They came back again three days later saying they can not complete transaction.....??

I cancelled order. They took 6 days more to refund money. Customer service do NOT answer the phone in hours. When they do, a nasty ill tempered individual treated me like if I were a pain in their ass and did not offer any solution.
They are a company from Spain. A country famous for their lack of commitment, corruption, and low productivity. Their reviews are horrible and they deserve it. AVOID THEM AT ALL COST!"

I ordered 2 ice screws to test the water, because the price seemed to good to be true. They arrived no prob. I turned around and ordered an entire rack of screws and it took a bit longer for shipping but again, no prob-

I bought a helmet from them. It was a screaming deal. Took about 2 weeks with shipping.

I found a Micro Traxion at a crazy-low price. The price made me a little suspicious at first, but I did a little looking around and the place seemed legit, so I ordered it, not realizing at the time it would be shipping from Spain. Like others, I experienced a slow delivery time, but the product did arrive as advertised. It took just over two weeks from order to arrival.

Ordered a Marmot jacket from them a few days ago...no way to track the shipping so am keeping my fingers crossed.

Replacing jacket as a devious Marmot displaced a stack of boulders off my partners pack below Dark Star in RMNP and absconded with it, not to mention the fat little bugger chewed the handles off my trekking poles, and violated the zipper on the pack.

Is it legal to carry a .22 cal on your rack in a National Park?

This Marmot is on my Most Wanted list now.  If anyone sees him wearing my orange jacket, (he may have the hood pulled up as a disguise) I will pay handsomely for his hide!  He has no remorse Im sure, and should be forever doomed to a little fiery hole in hell...

Hey, he's a Marmot; isn't that hell enough?

That Marmot is no match for the squirrels at Tahquitz. They are a plague of gear and pack destruction.

Ordered a grigri2 at a great price, took a bit longer to arrive because they are based in Europe, but I was happy with the purchase.

I've ordered a few times from them in the past.

One time they sent me the wrong carabiner. It was probably an honest mistake since it looked almost exactly like other carabiners in the line and the model numbers were similar. They credited my account since they were now out of stock by the time I received the mistake; they let me keep the wrong one too, as it probably cost more to send it back.

I couldn't find this carabiner anywhere online and they had it. I've since ordered the one I wanted; it eventually came back in stock.

Contact message replies have always been next day or sooner, which is fine.

As others have said, there is a delay in regards to shipping. Around 2 weeks but, it is coming from overseas, after all. Best to expect 3 weeks and be happily surprised when it arrives in only 2. I guess it depends on what you're ordering and which shipping you end up with etc. The shipping cost isn't terribly bad for a few light items. Once it starts getting heavy you're going to pay. Sometimes they 3rd party ship to Amsterdam, if I remember right. Then from there, it goes USPS to the US. Sometimes they use a different shipping service.

Also as mentioned, they have to wait for items to arrive at their warehouse and this adds to the time. For example, you could purchase 4 items and they only actually have 3 in stock and ready to ship but, it takes a week+ for the fourth item to arrive. If they already have it at the warehouse it will ship out much faster and arrive sooner. I'm not sure there is any way of knowing ahead of time if an item is in the warehouse or not. Consider contacting them directly?

Customs, well, I can't be completely sure but, it would appear that sometimes customs has to open stuff. They don't always put things back in the packaging properly. Although it's only happened once, I guess this is to be expected? Then again, it's possible whoever was doing the packaging at trekkinn was having a bad day. I'll never know.

Oh, sometimes tracking numbers show up in the orders, sometimes they don't. When they don't you can message them from the order page and they'll provide you the tracking number. Not sure why it's not all automated but, you can get it if you ask.

So, to round up and a few ideas for you:

  • Expect 2 weeks+ for shipping time.
  • No free return shipping - don't buy things you might want to return later know your size in shoes and clothes etc. if that's what you're buying, or you'll have to pay to get it back to Spain.
  • It's Spain, not [your country] for those who prefer their money staying closer to home.
  • Customs might open and mess up your packaging.
  • Not perfect customer service but, acceptable.
  • Watch the shipping prices as you add items to the cart. Consider splitting orders to save on shipping costs.
  • Consider keeping an eye on tracking to make sure it gets through each step and customs.
  • Set your expectations a bit lower if you're used to having perfect all around service. Hopefully, the price benefit can be an offset to this making it worth possible issues. Everything has worked out okay for me in the end but, I'm still a bit weary and assume the risk. YMMV of course.

Note: I'm in CA. Shipping to the East coast might be faster.

Same here, I've ordered from them 2-3 times with no issues.

I have used them. Took almost a month for the order to get processed and delivered to me.  But the items were 50% off U.S. prices!

secondly,  "They are a company from Spain. A country famous for their lack of commitment, corruption, and low productivity.",

- Ethnocentric much?

Thirdly, and actually the only pertinent thing I have to add to this thread is this;

I have ordered from this site on two separate occasions, on both it was for smoking deals, for both I waited roughly 2 weeks to receive the stuff. Given the prices I was fine with that, if you are not, don't deal with them.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
