Vertical Adventure Guides is looking for New Adventure Staff!
WOW, can you believe its almost spring, though the weather does not show it? Soon Adventurers from all over the Midwest will be seeking out Vertical Adventure Guides to take them on a great experience this Summer. 2014 will be our 17th season, and we are adding to our staff to meet the increasing demand for our services. VA is looking for new staff that can lead, assist in leading, or are willing to learn how to lead Kayak, Rock Climbing, Caving, and Zip Lining adventures. We need staff who are both passionate about what they do and who have flexible schedules. While we will try to keep you as busy as possible, these are part-time positions. That being said, we can be flexible with scheduling for other jobs you have but weekend availability is required. Working with VA will be a very rewarding experience!
Location: Mainly SW Wisconsin- Devil's Lake-Baraboo area
VA needs to fill these positions:
Kayak, Caving, Zip lining, Rock Climbing, Cycling staff
Qualifications: Minimum age is 18 years old
Min. required experience varies dependent on which adventure(s) you are brought in for
CPR/First Aid or Wilderness First Aid certification (or able get it before starting with VA)
preferred: minimum Top Rope Guide training via AMGA, PCGI, or PCIA (rock climbing)
Preferred- life guard training or basic water safety/small watercraft safety/rescue
Must be willing to submit to a background check since we work with children/families
Valid drivers license and ability to drive a van/vehicle with trailer will also be very helpful
Responsibilities:
Lead safe, fun, and exciting adventure day/multi day trips with a variety of adventure seekers
Lead small and larger groups, larger groups with one or more assistants
Bond with clients on a fun and interactive level- be yourself
Own your own climbing rack, harness, helmet, and personal equipment- Preferred but not required
Dates of Needed Availability:
Fri/Sat/Sun, Mid-May through at least Labor Day, with additional week days most likely based on bookings.
Compensation:
Varies- dependent on experience, skills, how many Adventure areas you are qualified in and tips sometimes given by clients. Lodging is available with our head staff for those who are not living in the area. Positions will be for lead and assistant adventure staff.
