Thinking about headed up there and checking it out later this week. Anybody been up there last couple weeks? Does the camping still have snow? Thanks in advance! |

As of last weekend 90% of the area was sans white stuff. There are still some snowfields here and there but none that interfered with the climbing or camping. |

Today is Monday the 15th and we are getting quite a bit of the white stuff. Nothing that would suggest any serious accumulation (no ice climbing season at the City is very much over). However this storm may put climbing on hold for a week or two. I guess you can climb in anything. Just pretend your in Patagonia. |

Does anyone else have more info about current conditions? We have a group that will either be going to city of rocks this weekend if there isn't too much snow, or else heading down to st. george...any info anyone has would be great! |

Weather for CIRO April 20th weekend. As of this morning there is no snow on the ground in the town of Almo, and the City of Rocks proper has a light dusting in spots, and lingering snow drifts in many places. Currently everywhere within the parks is soft, wet, and a strong cold wind blows. I was going climbing today, but it will top out at a whopping 36 degrees. As you can see this Saturday might be nicer temperatures, but nothing will be dry. You'd have the place to yourselves alright. If it were me, St. George is a no brainer, Mmmm Snow Canyon sounds so good right about now. Kevin |

OK Now is a good time to climb at the city. Temps are just at 60 degrees, the snow drifts are on their way out, the bitter cold wind is a breeze, and the SUN IS SHINING!! This weekend should be killer! The is a lot of buzz about Memorial Day weekend. I'd steer clear if you want to climb that weekend. Come now, the getting is good. |
