Don't encourage this drinking and nick-naming of beers, he might as well turn in his man-card.
Natty Ice?

I've been loading up the Torpedo tubes lately. It's a solid IPA.

Agree with almost anything by Sierra Nevada. Also pretty much any of the San Diego microbreweries (Stone, Green Flash, Ballast Point, Iron Fist, Alesmith. Green Flash is my favorite). I tend to buy local to support our beer-conomy; quality-wise they are also A++.

Any recommendations on sweeter beers that aren't fruity? I tried Lienkugel Sunset Wheat but that was overly sweet, I think I'm going to try Newcastle Brown Ale tonight

Start with Triple Karmeliet and then, once you realize your socks are suddenly gone, try some of the darker, and possibly much stronger, Belgian Christmas ales.

Yup, Belgian and Barley Wines, sweet and butt kickers. I really like the Uniboue beers (Canadian but Belgian style), they're Fin Du Monde is a little less sweet, has a Champagne like yeast to it, all their brews are pretty damn good. If sweet is what you want stay away from Saison styles, I like em but they can be pretty sour.

I had quite a few Avery beers last night at a few bars in Crested Butte. Can't remember what they were called, one was an IPA and another was White Rascal I think. Favorite was definitely the Rascal

Try it at just slightly below room temperature. Really brings out a good flavor
