That salesperson's expression says it all:

"Yep, its my job to convince you why you need this gimmicky piece of crap."

"Hey guys, what if we took a critical piece of safety equipment and redesigned it in the name of fashion, making it hard to adjust and virtually impossible to inspect for wear?"

Does look cool though.

I'm holding out until they have a full body suit with integrated gear sling, helmet and footwear as well as pockets for bivy gear and whatnot. Only then will the "action suit" truly fulfill its potential.

Do they make a skinny jeans version? Mavbe a matching trucker hat helmet as well?

No speed buckles uh... I expect to see a number of the most challenged contributors to this website sporting those next season. Unless it's not made in 'murica of course.

i want one of those other harnesses in the background.
they appear to have a built in/on chalk bag, Perfect!
now the chalk is always where i thought it was, which
is great for chimneys. . .

Great for weight savings on alpine routes!

I could actually see it being quite comfy for hanging belays depending on how its set up inside...

Seems like a good idea for alpine routes with a short rappel or something where packing a separate harness would be a bit more of a hassle. Is this gimicky? You bet! Am I thinking I might benefit from it? Yeah I am.

EDIT: but to wear this instead of a real harness at the crag seems ridiculous!

I recall seeing an alpine pant with a similar idea. Makes sense for the mountaineering to have an integrated harness, especially for routes which require very little roped work.

However, makes no sense to have in shorts form.

What if you shit your shorts? Long walk back to the car :(

Do i don't see a fly. Must you de-pants to pee or poop?

Not sure I would want to do an alpine approach in a harness. Id rather pack it in.

Could me nice for those of us who work in a gym and occasionally need to belay or show someone how to do a skill.

So you admit that you are lazy at work? Glad you only work in a gym, and not at the hospital.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
