I found the photo below at this link (…) but can't figure out what it is called, nor any route information on it. Can anyone tell me something about it? It looks like it'd have an awesome view . . . but it looks rather out of place for J-Tree

That sure doesn't look like josh. It does look similar to the Augille de Joshua Tree though.

That looks like sandstone....

*edit* I think they just put that picture up to show a spire not that it is in J-tree. I really doubt it is.

Only been to j tree once, but wouldn't expect to see anything like that. Seems there should be an app for this. Take a pic of a route, peak or spire then it would search a data base for similar features. Maybe you computer guys can work on this. Oh and maybe enter info like rock type, location and so on.

Hey, I'm glad to hear I'm not crazy. I'd agree, I do doubt it's Joshua Tree.

It's called Chinle spire, and it was placed incorrectly in that website by my webmistress.......sorry about that.....It's actually located in N. Arizona on the Navajo Indian Reservation, and not Joshua are correct in that it looks out of place for joshua Tree.....again;...sorry about that.....Todd Gordon CEO
