what's the deal with using bolts while climbing fa's in the park and surrounding canyons? is there still a bolt ban? (Red Rocks)

Current status is no bolts in the canyons. The BLM is currently considering revision of this rule as part of the Wilderness Plan that they are now working on. The Las Vegas Climbers' Liaison Council (lvclc.org) has been participating in ongoing BLM discussions, and is optimistic that we will see some improvement in this situation.

thanks for the reply larry. a few more questions if you don't mind:

-is it ok to climb ground up fa's and not place bolts?
-what about pins?
-is there a group of people active in this type development?

[edit] after looking at your profile, it's obvious you're climbing them!
