Printer-Friendly Format

One of the nice features on climbingboulder.com was "Printer Friendly", which reformatted area and route pages for printing.

MP.com could use a similar feature. Now, when you print a route page, you get the sidebar that shows all other routes in the area. This should not be present when all you want to do is print out the route info.

The formatting should be changed so the description and comment sections take up the full width of the page without the sidebar. This will produce better, more concise printed output without all the whitespace on the left side.

We've had that to-do for sometime, just haven't gotten to it yet... but don't worry, it'll come to :)

We won't be doing this for every page (it's custom work for each one).

Are there any pages that should be printable besides these?

Do you think printable route and area pages should include photos (they take a lot of space, are small, and generally don't print well - on the other hand - if you're lost looking for something, you'll take anything you can get).

I think the Route and Area pages are most important. The printer-friendly format should include Description, Protection, and Comments, but not Photos. The photos are small, hard to see without enlargement, and don't add much to a printed copy of the route info.

On cb.com, the large beta photos of the route or area (if any) are included in the printer-friendly format. One problem with this is that beta photos are often split between two pages when printed out.

On MP.com, it would be nice to have a "Print Beta Photo" capability. This would generate a full-size photo with the area name, route name, and caption which could be printed out. Everything should fit on one printer page, resizing if necessary. Showing the area name, route name, and caption is important; not all beta photos are self-identifying. The user could select any photo to be printed this way.

Perhaps "print beta photo" could be put next to "view full size", or "view full size" could be enhanced to include the area name, route name, and caption for every photo.

Regarding "Print Beta Photo" option, credit to the picture taker should be given along with the caption, route name, etc.

I think printing comments was a bad thing on climbingBoulder in general. Sometimes the comments were needed, but not mostly.

It sort of depends on whether you're printing out one route (a long multi-pitch for example) or many short ones. Ideally, you could choose whether to include comments...

Users may not able to solve or fix up the setup and configuration of Printer with a MAC OS based system. There are several queries with providing all the possible solutions has already given in error connecting to apple id server that will provide an actual solution.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
