Scottish climbing legend Hamish MacInnes passed away at his home in Glencoe, Scotland last Sunday (11-22-2020) at age 90. In addition to establishing cutting edge climbs in Scotland, he was involved in adventures throughout the world and invented all sorts of of climbing and rescue gear such as Terrordactyl ice tools and the MacInnes stretcher. Hamish frequently partnered with climbing powerhouses like Mo Antoine, Sir Chris Bonington, Joe Brown, Yvon Chouinard, Dougal Haston, Doug Scott, Don Whillans and many others. He was also involved in a number of big-budget movies, like The Eiger Sanction with Clint Eastwood, Five Days One Summer with Sir Sean Connery and The Mission with Robert De Niro.

Hamish will leave from our Funeral Home at 10am, arriving at Glencoe Village at approximately 10:30am, stopping briefly at
Glencoe Mountain Rescue Centre, passing through the village and pausing for a short time of reflection at his own home,
Tigh-A-Voulin, before continuing to the crematorium.
