Do you know that for a fact- or you just speculating? Shuteye is a big place.

Here is latest. Balch Camp ok so far, as is Courtright. Part of Shuteye Ridge burned. So did Fuller Buttes by the looks of it but Jackass Rock so far has not. Balloon Dome is still spared as is Squaw Dome (renamed but I forget the name). The Balls appear to be outside the fray, as well.

You can zero in on the fire zone map from this URL   https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/photos/CASNF/2020-09-05-1237-Creek-Fire/picts/2020_09_10-13.37.34.885-CDT.jpeg

Here is a link to a map which shows current fire activity. Updates from satellite feeds

https://caltopo.com/map.html#ll=37.26859,-119.25934&z=10&b=mbt&a=c%2Csma%2Cmodis_mp

Fire affected areas

-90% of Shuteye, Fuller Buttes, Jackass Rock, Kerkhoff Dome, Sunset Point, Mammoth Pool Dome, Wimuvi Pluton,

Unaffected

Fresno Dome, Piyau Dome, Balloon Dome, Balls, Courtright, Patterson Bluff

EDIT -Tollhouse, Squarenail (?)

There is a spot fire burning out near Courtright, in the area around Dogtooth Peak.

We obviously wont know how much damage was actually done until the fire is out, which will likely be months from now.

Detail from Cory’s posted map: Squarenail looks ok as does Tollhouse (on this map). Within a week we will all know a lot more.

RE Tollhouse, I stand corrected. I had heard through the grapevine that Tollhouse burned, but obviously I don't know for sure. Once the fire is contained and the road opens I'll check it out

Is Tollhouse accessible now?

Yes

The SQF Complex fire burned through the Needles. I have no idea yet how bad it is, access is closed for now.

So far as I can tell from the various maps, Dome Rock area was unburned.

Spoke to a climber who lives nearby. Sounds like the Needles pulled through ok. Not so much for Hermit.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
