fires and Smith Rock
|
Looking at climbing in Smith Rocks Thurs thru Sat. Does anyone know if the fires have caused any restrictions or closures? |
|
There are no fires near Smith Right now that I know of. Depending on where you're coming from there could be road closures though. |

thanks Tim! |

The smoke yesterday was bad.. enough that we bailed. The Smith Rock webcam is a good local resource. https://smithrock.com/webcam |

Photo from that same day in the West Cave of the Monkey. Look at that gorgeous Oregon landscape! Realistically, there is no way to predict if you will be smoked out. All depends on the location of the fires and the direction of the wind - both of which change quite rapidly. |

My sister was there this morning and it was clear |

We’ve had easterly winds. As soon as the prevailing west winds kick in we’ll be blanketed in smoke. |

I have a trip planned for Smith Rock in a week a little over a week. I hope everting is good by then. |

And here’s the smoke. Let’s pray for some moisture next week for the western half of the state. Enjoy your weekend fellas. |

Wow! Look at the Marsupials. The wombat looks great. If you look closely enough you can even see the Monkey. Stellar condies |
