Camping for Eldo/Flatirons?

Hello,

Looking to camp and climb in these areas.  Anybody have any beta on good camping nearby?

Honestly, just go elsewhere. What makes those crags so famous is their proximity and ease of access from Boulder and Denver. This is great for locals, but makes these crags unsuited to a road tripper. Simply put, there are better crags out there, that also have easier camping. But they may be less famous since they are more remote. For the road tripper looking for camping, this is good.

In the front range, consider visiting the South Platte instead. Start with the Cathedral Spires and Turkey Rock (both areas are great), or branch out to any of the dozens of other great crags in the South Platte. All of these areas will have sone sort of reasonable camping option.

Or, just drive to Moab and climb desert towers.

Lol, ya no camping exists close to these places, but if you want to drive up to the areas outside of the towns of Rollinsville, Nederland, Ward, it's all national forest with plenty of dispersed camping. These are all about 1-1.5 hours away from Flatirons and Eldo. Just please be respectful of the land/don't be an ignoramus, this is a heavily used area with lots of turd balls that act like dicks up there, which does lead to areas being closed off to camping.

Like others mentioned, your options are mostly a little ways out. The two places I would suggest are Upper dream canyon: primitive camping with a few hundred routes within walking distance, or Dude's Throne (aspen meadows campground): developed site in an aspen glade with a good sub-alpine sport crag walking distance. Both are about 30minutes from Boulder. The "A-Lodge" has camping 5 minutes from downtown, but it's $45/night.

Can't you camp in eldorado springs?  Just pitch a tent in one of the dirt parking lots outside the park

Just camp in the pool - it's off season, no one's around.

Camp in a hotel.

Please don't try to dirtbag camp in the town of Eldorado Springs. We're having enough issues with access at Eldo as it is. Use a legal campsite or stay in a hotel.

The A Lodge has platform tent sites right at the base of Boulder Canyon. As noted upthread, they aren't cheap, but you can find community and beta with the A-lodge staff and other guests. 

honestly, boulder is a cool town. find a decent Airbnb and enjoy!!

Colorado is a good place to live but I wouldn’t want to visit there 

St Vrain State Park is about 25 Min away and has heated showers & bathrooms and all in nice sites.  Also much warmer than Ned.
And certainly lots of sites open as well as good fishing.

Back nin the late 70s early 80s when I used to climb a lot at Eldo the owner/manager of the pool/club right outside the entrance of eldo used to rent out a limited number of camping spaces for climbers. Too bad that doesn't happen anymore.

Lyons has campground right in town and it’s like 10 minutes away from St Vrain canyon which has some stellar climbing 

Surprised nobody mentioned the Adventure Lodge.  Yeah, kind of pricey for tent camping, but it's also pretty nice & a heck of a lot cheaper than a room somewhere:

Can you still camp with the gypsy's at the fairgrounds?

It was close to the climbing, but there was an extremely odd assortment of people there, that may or may not steal your stuff and then blatantly wear it right in front of you.

Tons of people offer Air BNB rooms in their basements in Boulder.
