I got past the hammock and all the way up to the part about wiping tears from lower eyelids. Seems an ok read.  But lost interest for personal reasons.  :)

Basically a 4 page article about how someone harbored 4 years of emotional and ego damage while attempting a dyno move on top rope. Her theory is that her friends offered too much encouragement when they should have been more silent. Insert eye roll emoji.

I praise it for writing that. However, I'm not unoffended by the heavy use of emotions in the writing, I was unprepared and am in need of a chant circle to cleans myself.

Not in my circle. we drink black coffee to grow chest hair and recover from the blackout from the night before, purposely don't clip the first bolt at the gym to see how many belay cards we can have revoked, rock assless leather chaps because they are punk rock, and only climb trad routes in the alpine because that is hardcore.

I personally believe slab climbing has more potential for positive social change, but I respect the author's opinion.

Why can't we just accept that we are going to fail at things in life? I have climbed with a few people who act like their dog died when they can't get up a climb. I don't climb with them again.
I have struggled and lowered off of lots of routes, I have had lots of beta and info shouted to me, never once has climbing been more than just a fun outing. I hate that everything walks into "inclusiveness" even comments like "just go for it" are offensive these days. It is a rock... It is not inclusive because it is a rock. Climb it in whatever style you pick, your friends will offer encouragement, listen or don't.

Guess I am probably going to get told how "privileged" I am now.

Holy shit.  There's so much wrong there, I don't even know where to start.  A dyno is not a life changing emotional event.  It's a fucking dyno.
